6th Month Visit to Dr Chen - 25 June 2009
 25th June (Thursday) was the 24 week visit to Dr Chen. Appointment was in the morning at 1030hrs, Daddy and Mummy reached around 1015hrs. Took Mummy's weight - gained a total of 1.6kg from the 20th Week visit (Mummy now weighs 67.3kg!) After urine test, we saw Dr Chen without having to wait very long. Mummy did not mention here that 2 weeks ago, Mummy had a very bad pain in the pubic bone area, and Daddy was very worried and whisked Mummy to see Dr Chen on 15 June, Mummy had injured her ligament and was given 6 days of hospitalisation leave to rest at home. After one over week of rest, the pain is still there, and Mummy has not recovered fully. A scan showed that Isabelle is growing healthily and happily. Whilst Dr Chen was scanning away, Baby Isabelle was kicking and hitting at the scanner furiously. Guess Isabelle does not enjoy the 'light' shining at her, and hit the scanner several times, Mummy felt the kicks and the punches! Wahahaha.. Isabelle is in a breech position and weighs approximately 602grams, based on abdomen measurement. This time round the scan was done using a 3D scan, so we actually saw Isabelle's face literally, no longer the scary 2D scan. Wow! Mummy is very amazed with technology! Isabelle was playing with her hand, and had used the palm to cover her face for a rather long period of time, which resulted in Dr Chen not able to get a complete picture of Isabelle's face. Finally succeeded after about 15 minutes. Managed to catch Isabelle sucking on her thumb and yawning. My little girl is really so cute, and from the 3D scan, it seems like Isabelle has Daddy's forehead! Hahaha.. Next visit will be 4 weeks later, and Mummy will have to take the glucose test coz Grandma is diabetic, so there is a possibility that Mummy might have Gestational Diabetes (GD). Hopefully everything goes well, Mummy has seen from Auntie Sharon's example that its very troublesome to have GD. 7 times a day, twice a week. On top of that, Mummy has to control her sugar intake and eat in small portions, no longer can Mummy eat only 3 meals a day. Mummy has to eat 7 small meals a day instead! Daddy has instructed that NO durians for the next 4 weeks which Mummy has to obediently obey. Of coz this does not mean that after the 4 weeks Mummy is allowed to gorge herself with durians! Hahaha.. After the glucose test, Mummy will be able to indulge in a little bit of durians, but not in excessive amounts. Hope Gong-gong and PoPo will not tempt Mummy with too much durians, esp when its the durian season now! Time really flies, already reached my 6th month of pregnancy, and really soon, Mummy and Daddy will get to see Baby Isabelle in real person soon! We are looking fwd very very much to meeting you, Baby!
