Jaundice
Isabelle was admitted in Mount Alvernia for 2 days for jaundice, and Mummy cried really badly. Jaundice is a very common problem amongst newborn, but still it hurts to see my little baby lying inside the plastic with 2 lights shining strongly at her. We had two options actually - to admit her or to rent the lights home for home phototherapy. We wanted to rent the lights home but Dr Terence Tan strongly recommends that we admit Isabelle but Mummy cannot bear to do so. One question from Dr Tan made us harden our heart to admit Isabelle. "Do you feel like you're dying of exhuastion?" I guess he fully understands how tiring a new parent can feel, especially since he is a father of four kids. Thus we had to make our way and admit Isabelle into Mount Alvernia. And since Mummy did not admit with Isabelle, Mummy had no chance to latch her. I had to express out my milk and Daddy became the milkman who delivers expressed breastmilk to Isabelle in the hospital. On the first day of admission - 7th October (Wednesday) On the 2nd day of admission, photo taken by Daddy Dearest Daddy fed Isabelle the ebm, and this is our favourite photo.. Soooooo adorable.. Just melts your heart doesn't she? And luckily for all of us, after 2 whole days of phototherapy, my darling princess was discharged to be home with us again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
